The Smart & Sustainable Building Technologies (SSBT) team at the Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N) has participated in the Mostra Convegno Expocomfort (MCE) Asia. The event was held at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Center from 12th to 14th September 2017.
MCE is the region's leading trade exhibition for energy-efficient solutions in HVAC-R, Plumbing Technology, Sanitary Accessories, and Solar Energy that powers industrial plants, commercial and residential buildings. Endorsed by the Building and Construction Authority of Singapore, the Singapore Green Building Council and many other reputed industry partners, it's where international manufacturers, innovative startups and Southeast Asian buyers and influencers converge to source, network, learn and transform their business.
The group has presented at its booth its research goals and results, along with the capacity to plan and support integrated design of Clean Technologies for Smart and Zero Energy Buildings. The team displayed during the three-day exhibition a sample of the wide span of the SSBT research topics, led in collaboration with public and private agencies and industrial partners, from a technological to neighborhood scale.
Technological research findings were presented for the Cool Singapore Project assessing the effect of cool materials in the urban climate of Singapore, in parallel to Air T&D’s new PDV technology.
Ongoing research on Zero-Energy Buildings was displayed though in-scale building models supporting Augmented Reality visualization of clean technologies and energy savings. Energy simulations on the NSIB building were displayed through a Virtual Reality experience for the guests.
On the neighborhood scale, the ongoing research from the EcoCampus initiative was displayed on a web portal using IES technology for data visualization and analysis of building energy data in NTU campus.
