Asst Prof. Martin Skote is currently in the School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering since 2008-07-07. He received his Master and PhD degrees from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, Sweden. His research interests include Turbulent Boundary Layers, Atmospheric Flow, Urban Air Quality, Turbulence control and modeling. His fundamental research on turbulence has been published in the Journal of Fluid Mechanics as well as Physics of Fluids. Prior to joining NTU, he worked for the Institute of High Performance Computing (IHPC) for three years, where he developed a numerical simulation tool for air pollution dispersion simulations in collaboration with the National Environment Agency (NEA) in Singapore. Asst Prof. Skote is a member of International Association for Urban Climate (IAUC).
His areas of expertise are Direct Numerical Simulation, Turbulent Boundary Layer Flow, Separation, Atmospheric Flow, Urban Air Quality, Turbulence Modeling, Plasma Actuator Modeling. His current research works focus on fundamental studies of turbulence aiming at the control of turbulent boundary layers.
