Professor Soon-Fatt YOON is Chair of the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore, where he is Professor of solid-state electronics and photonics. Internationally renowned for his scientific achievements in the field of molecular beam epitaxy for III-V compound semiconductors, he has made pioneering contributions in this field in NTU and Singapore. As Director of the Compound Semiconductor Group, he manages several key research programs totaling more than $12M. He is Co-Lead Principal Investigator of the Low Energy Electronics interdisciplinary research program under the SMART center. On the international front, he is a highly regarded scientist, innovator and educator.
