WONG Yew Wah is the Deputy Programme Director of the Smart & Sustainable Building Technologies programme and a Senior Research Fellow at ERI@N. He was Associate Professor at the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. He holds an MSc in Mechanical Engineering and B. Eng (Hons) from National University of Singapore. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Singapore, Senior Member in the Institution of Engineers, Singapore, and Fellow of ASHRAE. He was Regional Chair of ASHRAE Region 13 and a Board Member of ASHRAE, Inc from 2001 – 2004.

Yew Wah has many years of experience on design of cooling systems for the built environment and in building energy efficiency.  He is active in the development of codes and standards on sustainability and energy efficiency in buildings in Singapore.  He co-Chaired the working group on the review of the Air-conditioning Code.  He is a contributor to the NCCS tech primers on air-conditioning and also on green data center and a consultant for the development of the BCA-IDA Green Mark for data centers.  He served as Member on Singapore Building and Construction Authority’s (BCA) International Panel of Experts for Sustainability of the Built Environment in 2009, 2010 and 2012, and on the Advisory Panel for the BCA’s Green Mark rating system.  He was Member on the Expert team in APEC Peer Review of Energy Efficiency of member economies of Vietnam and Chile in 2009.  ​​
