The Smart & Sustainable Building Technologies (SSBT) team from the Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N) was invited to participate and showcase their research in the 5th Singapore Tourism Board (STB) – Singapore Hotel Association (SHA) Hotel Industry Conference. The event was held at the Raffles City Convention Centre on 6th November 2019.
The SSBT team had a dedicated booth in the exhibition area to showcase its research goals and results, along with the capacity to plan and support integrated design of Smart and Zero Energy Buildings. Research findings on design of Zero Energy and Super Low Energy Buildings was displayed though in-scale building models supporting Augmented Reality visualization of clean technologies and energy savings. Apart from sharing their existing research, the team also engaged with the audience (primarily from the hotel industry) on how to inculcate sustainability in their hotels by designing new hotels via the scientific, planning and support framework as well as improving existing hotel’s energy efficiency via the virtual audit framework.
